Discover JDM is built to provide information while respecting your privacy. We believe in data minimization and transparency in how your information is handled.
1. Collecte de données
Discover JDM does not require account creation. We collect limited technical data and subscription-related identifiers to provide our services. This includes device metadata, app version, performance logs, App User ID, and transaction identifiers. We also collect local data for favorites and stamp collection as described in Section 2.

Discover JDM utilizes location services for several key features: (1) General usage: Displaying your position on the interactive map relative to car events. (2) Apple Weather: Location coordinates are passed to Apple Weather to retrieve local forecasts for event spots. (3) Pro Features: Verifying physical presence at a spot for the 'Goshuincho' stamp feature and delivering proximity alerts. If you grant 'Always' access, Discover JDM monitors your location in the background to notify you when you approach car events or spots; you can switch to 'While Using the App' or disable location at any time in iOS Settings. Precise coordinates used for proximity verification are processed locally and never stored on our servers.

Data is collected directly from your actions, system permissions, and device-generated tokens. We do not track your behavior across other apps or websites.

We use the collected data strictly to show events, enable favorites/stamps, deliver personalized notifications, and ensure app stability. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Prestataires de services tiers
Discover JDM utilizes third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) that transmit technical data to their respective servers to provide core functionality:
A. Google Firebase (Notifications & Analytics): Used to deliver push notifications and collect anonymized app usage statistics (GA4), including tour page view and tour booking-tap counts (with the contact method used). Aggregate analytics data may be shared with tour guide contractors in the form of periodic reports. No personally identifying information is included.
B. RevenueCat (Subscriptions): Used to manage and verify Pro access. RevenueCat processes App User ID, transaction identifiers, and purchase history. Payment details are handled securely by Apple Inc.
C. Apple Services (Maps & Weather): The app uses Apple Maps to display event locations and Apple Weather to provide real-time weather forecasts for event spots. Your interaction with these services is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Utilisation des données et protection équitable
In accordance with App Review Guideline 5.1.1(i), we explicitly confirm that all third parties with whom we share data—including analytics, subscription management, and mapping services—provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy. Data is used strictly for the purposes described in Section 4.
Notifications: Using Firebase tokens to alert you to nearby automotive events.
Subscription Verification: Using RevenueCat to grant access to Pro features.
App Stability: Using technical logs to identify and resolve performance issues.
App Improvement & Analytics: Using anonymized usage data (GA4) to understand how enthusiasts interact with event and tour listings, and to provide aggregate tour popularity reports (view counts and regional breakdown) to our tour guide partners.
Weather Data: Using event location coordinates to retrieve current and forecast weather conditions from Apple Weather.
7. Conservation des données
Local data (favorites, stamps) remains on your device until you delete the app or clear the data. Technical identifiers are retained only as long as necessary to provide services and diagnostics.
8. Vos contrôles
You can manage location permissions, notifications, and reset local data anytime via iOS Settings and the in-app settings menu.

10. Confidentialité des enfants
Discover JDM does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. All data collection is limited to service functionality.
11. Liens externes
The app contains links to third-party event websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.
