Planning Your Road Trip: Using the Japan Car Events Info Map
While our event list is great for scrolling, the Japan Car Events Info Map is where your Japan road trip truly takes shape.
Whether you are plotting a route through the mountains or trying to see how many meets you can hit in a single weekend in Tokyo, the map is your visual command center.
1. Visualizing "Car Culture Density"
When you first open the Maps Page, you’ll see icons scattered across the Japanese archipelago. This is the quickest way to see where the action is concentrated during your travel dates.
- Pro Tip: Zoom into the Kanto (Tokyo) and Kansai (Osaka/Kyoto) regions. You’ll often find that multiple meets are happening within driving distance of each other on the same day. The map allows you to see these clusters at a glance.
2. See the Community Heat
On the map summary, keep an eye out for the Flame icon ("I'm Going"). This feature allows you to see how many other enthusiasts are planning to attend a specific meet.
If you find an event that fits your schedule, make sure to click the flame icon yourself. It helps the community see which meets are the primary hubs for that week.
3. Map Pins are Gateways
The map pins are your gateway to the rest of the site. Every pin you see on the map is interactive.
Clicking a pin provides a quick summary, but the most important step is clicking through to the full Event Details page. There, you will find the specific coordinates and calendar links you need to reach the location.
4. Combine with Favorites for a Visual Hit-List
Use the Favorites (Heart icon) on events you find on the map.
Once you’ve favorited a few spots, you can visualize your own curated "Hit List," making it easy to see the logical flow for your rental car route and how much ground you can realistically cover in a day.
Road Trip Reminder: If you are planning to drive, ensure you have your International Driving Permit (IDP) ready before you leave home. You cannot rent a car in Japan without it!
