Travel Tips for June:

  • Weather Wise: June marks the beginning of tsuyu (rainy season) in much of Japan. The rainy season will start south and make its way north, with Kyushu entering the season around early June, then Osaka/Kyoto, Tokyo and northward regions entering in mid June. Be prepared for showers with a light, waterproof jacket or umbrella. Temperatures are generally warm and humid although better than the onslaught of heat & humidity in July/August. Note that some meets are cancelled or delayed in case of rain. Please check organizer websites or contact us.
  • Getting Around: Japan's public transport is excellent, but for reaching circuit events or more rural meets, renting a car can offer unparalleled flexibility. Consider an International Driving Permit. TSJapan Tours offers interpreted/guides tours to car meets and events within a 100km radius of Tokyo. For other regions, consider a car rental to go to one of these meets.
  • Stay Hydrated: Humidity can be high. Always carry water, especially if you plan to spend time outdoors at events.
  • Etiquette: Be mindful of parking rules, keep noise levels down at residential meets, and always ask before taking close-up photos of owners. Never touch the cars!
  • Book in Advance: Popular events and accommodations, especially around major circuits or scenic areas, can book up quickly. Plan and reserve early!
