Our Commitment
AutoNymizer is built from the ground up to protect your privacy. We don't believe your private photos should ever leave your device.
1. On-Device Processing
All image analysis, Apple Vision/ONNX-based license plate detection, and Google ML Kit face detection happen entirely on your iPhone/iPad. We do not use cloud-based services or external servers to process your photos or facial data. Image analysis occurs entirely on-device.
2. Face Data & Privacy
To provide our core anonymization features, the app identifies the presence and location of faces within images.
Collection & Use: The app identifies facial bounding boxes and landmarks solely to apply user-selected masks (such as blurs or solid colors). This data is never used for identification, mapping, or tracking.
Storage & Sharing: No face data is ever transmitted to our servers or any third parties. All processing occurs in real-time on your device.
Retention: Face data is processed in temporary system memory only. No face data is stored in persistent storage or saved after the anonymization process is complete.
3. Data Collection
AutoNymizer does not collect or store personal information such as names, email addresses, photos, or biometric identifiers. Limited technical and subscription-related identifiers are processed by third-party service providers as described in Section 5. This may include device metadata, app version, performance logs, App User ID, and transaction identifiers. We do not use this data to identify users, track behavior across apps, or serve advertising.
4. Permissions
Camera: Used only for the real-time detection feature to find objects while you aim the device.
Photo Library: Used only to allow you to select a photo for anonymization and to save the final result back to your camera roll.
5. Third-Party Service Providers and Data Collection
AutoNymizer utilizes third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) that transmit technical data to their respective servers.
A. Google ML Kit (AI Service): We use Google ML Kit for on-device face detection. All image analysis and face detection occur entirely on your device. Photos, image content, and face detection data never leave your device. To ensure service stability and performance, the SDK transmits limited technical diagnostic information to Google LLC (device model, operating system version, app version, performance metrics, and network information necessary to deliver SDK services). No image or facial landmark data is ever transmitted.
B. RevenueCat (Payment & Subscription): We use RevenueCat Inc. to manage and verify in-app purchases. RevenueCat processes your App User ID, transaction identifiers, purchase history, and subscription status. Payment details are processed by Apple Inc. and are never accessible to us. RevenueCat acts as a data processor on our behalf for subscription verification purposes.
6. Data Use and Transmission
In accordance with App Review Guideline 5.1.2(i), all data collected is used strictly for the following purposes:
Subscription Verification: Using RevenueCat identifiers to grant Pro access to authorized users.
Service Stability and Diagnostics: Using Google ML Kit telemetry to identify and resolve performance issues and app crashes.
We do not sell this data, and we do not use it for advertising or user tracking.
7. Children’s Privacy
AutoNymizer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The limited technical and subscription-related identifiers described in this policy are processed solely for service functionality and are not used to identify users.
